BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art

Opening in 2002 in an old converted flour mill, the iconic BALTIC Centre is a large art gallery that provides visitors with a large calendar of exhibitions and new work projects. The centre was also the venue for the 2011 Turner Prize, attracting a record 149,000 visitors. The BALTIC Centre is only a stone’s throw away from out hotel in Gateshead Quays.

Metrocentre Gateshead is Europe’s largest shopping and leisure centre. With over 300 outlets as well as brilliant leisure facilities and restaurants, it’s the perfect place for a bit of retail therapy, and is only a 15 minute drive from our hotel in Gateshead.
